Dry Needling
A modality I use, when necessary, to target trigger points, improve healing and re-educate muscles.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a useful tool to treat pain caused by trigger points.Trigger points are knots within the muscle that occur for a number of reasons; overactivity, weakness, and heightened nerve messages. Physical Therapists who are certified to dry needle insert a small filament needle, muscle deep, to target the trigger point. This is different, and not the same as acupuncture. It is called "dry" needling because the needle does not administer medication.

Dry needling is a treatment method not to be feared and rarely causes significant pain or discomfort. It can offer significant relief and last longer than some other manual therapy techniques.
